    How to Catch Sharks

Was not trying to put a damper on anything but was just stating from experience. Look at the following http://www.ncdmf.net/recreational/recguide.htm and see if I am reading it wrong.

    How to Catch Sharks

Just a word of caution but when catching your own, be very sure of the regs on the sharks. Black tips are required to be atleast 54 inches fork, and depending on which state, bonnets are the same. Sharpnoses, if I am correct, do not have a minimum size but you are only allowed two per day...

Does anyone catch their own sharks?

Unfortunately I will be leaving Saturday morning for home (15 hours away). I have a trip planned for the morning and hopefully one last chance Friday night but I'm not sure where I am going to try. I hope to have some luck tomorrow as reports have been favorable for Flagler.

Does anyone catch their own sharks?

I am staying in New Smyrna Beach this week and have fished NSB surf and Playalinda Beach and have only caught a couple sharpnose. Tomorrow morning I will be fishing Flagler, hoping to nail a couple of bonnets. From reports it seems that the pups have been running up until last week so I am...

Black Tip Reef Sharks Need Home

I have just finished placing an order for BTR sharks that I will be picking up at JFK in about two weeks. These guys are coming straight from a solid, reliable overseas collector and I am getting an excellent deal on them. The only problem is that I had to order a total of five to fulfill...

    Bonnet Shark Transporting

Unless you want to get in a lot of trouble do not proceed any further. It is illegal to collect and transport sharks without permits and licenses. A vendor license doesn't mean squat when it comes to the legal sell of sharks. I would seriously look into what is required to do it properly. I...

    Tank Pics

I am still around but have been busy as all get out. The work has been finished and the new 35000 gallon shark lagoon is already home to some sharks (those from the original 18000 pool, oh yaeh anybody want an 18000 gallon modified swimming pool!). I have just recently gotten back from a...

    Post Your Shark Pix!!!

The two sharks that I am collecting, Atlantic sharpnose and bonnethead, do not have any size limitations in South Carolina waters. The only regs are the possesson limits of two per person per day for the sharpies and one per person per day for the bonnets. After talking to both local and...

    Post Your Shark Pix!!!

Here is a pic of the pool I used to hold some Atlantic sharpnose while on my last collection trip. The sharks are presently in QT in my 18000 gallon pool before they'll be introduced to my new shark lagoon.

    shark pond

denny, presently I have an 18000 gallon pool that houses bonnetheads, sharpnoses, sandbar, and black tip reef sharks. I have a MSN group that has a few pics but am working on building a site that will be all shark and ray. I am in the process of having a 35000 gallon lagoon built that is to be...

    quick Shark queshtion

All of the bamboo sharks will reach near three to four feet in captivity. The cat sharks stay a little smaller at around two to three feet. The smallest tank that should be used for the catsharks is atleast 220. With a 180 you could keep a cat shark but there really shouldn't be anything else...

    big tank skimmers

Where did you get the clear tubing to make those skimmers? I have looked for it at various local plumbing wholesalers and can only get large diameter PVC. Anyway nice looking set up and they do seem to work very well.

Does Anyone Keep Any Snook Or Sheephead

The main concern would be the legality of keeping game fish in captivity. I am not sure what Florida Fish and Game rules are but would check them out well before collecting any. The other problem I can see would be setting up a tank big enough to house them. Most of these fish can easily...

    Epaulette Shark

Agreed, if you double some of his recommendations then you would be getting closer to the correct size. I have no problem with newbies asking questions, my problem is that many seem to want some quick answers without doing any work. This is defintely not the way to approach shark keeping.
