small fish can hang with an sfe imo. It simply depends on the eels personality. Every fish as most stories you read throughout this forum are different (tankmates and compatibility) wise. Everyone has oddball matches althugh maybe 9 out 10 times the general facts are valid there are people...

pOHTR...Not a contradiction...lentgh of time and the corals required lighting power to survive are different... lighting increase is to provide him the sufficient light it requires to thrive along with the time which in most tanksa 6-8 hours is typical.... Lighting time is all...
Curious....what did you test your salinity with? a refractometer or the plastic hydrometer?
Also like mentioned before cut back on lighting( I say to 6 hours) and feeding (I feed every other day..but thats me and because of my bioload of tankmates and corals). What are you're usual feeding...
well my tank is extremely stable with the temp varying only 1.5 degrees at a very gradual rate throughout the day, and all my readings have been excellent for the past 5 months. the star is fed accordingly as well with a good mixture of foods.

dude...i'd be lying if I say I knew....All Iknow is that I wanted a clean look without a hob overflow so I drilled the bottomand siliconed the wall...i got a 10gal sump/fuge with a mag3 for return and it's handling it like a champ.. along with the koralia model1 I am good to go...
