I quit counting at $3000 a long time ago with my 125gal.

I have had a small scopas tang in my 125gal for some time now. I added a yellow tang yesterday and the scopas still hasn't left it alone. Today, they both have marks on each side of their tails from where they've been "whipping" each other. Will the scopas eventually stop, or will they continue...

I want to purchase a pair of maroon clowns from my lfs when i get off work. I am a little worried though. They are small and coming from the same tank. How aggresive are they? I am worried about them picking on my yellow and powder brown and copperbanded butterfly when it comes time to add them...

I definately noticed mine does. I've been having trouble raising both of them up to the appropriate levels. Everytime I dose one, the other falls. Any tricks on how to get them into the appropriate range?

Thanks for the advice and I definitely plan on follow up on those reads. The reason I was wondering is because I have a friend who runs his at 13, but everythng i heard on hear stated that 12 dKh should be the highest. I'll do some more research, but just wanted some opionions on what others...

I've been reading up on this alot lately and been finding mixed opinions. What are the "OPTIMAL" levels to keep your CA and dKH at? At the same time, what have you found to be acceptable? I've been having trouble getting my levels in line and want to see what everyone runs. My system right now...

I have a 20L fuge underneath my 125gal where I harvest chaeto. In the chaeto are an abundace of pods, but when i look in my main tank, I can't see nearly as much on my LR. It's about time for me to trim thin out my chaeto and I'm wondering if anyone manually washes their pods out of it, before...

what type... I don't know. They're a redish brown slime that's photosynthetic and covers everything. They don't seem to come back too quickly everyday, but I also don't run my MH's as long as I should. They're only on for about 5 hrs. Where does this crap come from? What causes it?

Due to way too big of water changes and big temp swings, I've recentley had dinoflagellates dang near wipe out my tank. It's still way to early to tell, but I think I have them under control. I hope to god anyways. Has anyone encountered these in their tanks? If so, how did you eliminate them...

I know someone that's selling a Kalk reactor cheap, but i don't know too much about them. Can somone please explain to me how they work? How many people run one on their big tanks? ....mine's a 125gal.

Well, due to my sudden loss of approx $450 worth of fish, i am forced to set up a qt. It's my own stupidity for pushing my luck, but I refuse to go through this again. I plan on setting up a qt and I'd like to know the pros/cons of hypo vs copper. What have you guys found easiest/best?

perfectdark: no, it doesn't come up in a mat. When I leave my lights on, it starts to cover everything. Where the flow is high, where it isn't, powerheads, rockwork, and my sandbed too. It is brown with a slight red tint, but I'm sure it's not red slime. Everyday or two, i easily blow it off...

I've recently upgraded to 3 250w MH's on my 125gal tank. My tank was alright at first, but then i added a new tang. He wasn't eating at first so I was slightly overfeeding. Since, I've cut back on feeding and done a big water change. I have plenty of flow, but I still can't get rid of this...
