why does my skimmer do this?

What do you mean by clean water? Is your protein skimmer and in-sump skimmer? Sometimes with in-sump skimmers, if you top off your tank, your water level goes up in the sump (obviously.) This causes the level in the skimmer to go up, and sometimes if you overfill your sump, meaning filled it up...

    Shrimps MIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could be a number of reasons.... 1. They died. 2. If they did die, check your calcium, it it's too high, they can get "stuck in a molt" meaning their shell hardens before they molt which causes them to die. 3. Most inverts need iodine, check with your LFS for iodine, aquarium iodine is a lot...

    First Saltwater Setup-55 Gallons

I always like looking at new tanks. Everything is so clean its scary, but looks awesome. As the tank ages your tank will get more color, but also dirtier. So far it looks good, the anemone (purple atlantic) looks bleached. Probably from the improper lighting, as you are probably aware of...

I plan to upgrade to a 180 or bigger once I decide to upgrade again. I was thinking, instead of selling my current tank, I would transform...
