    Eggcrate?

    A lot of people will use clear bird netting to cover their tanks. It allows more light penetration than egg crate. Egg crate will work in a pinch but will cut down your par by a bit.

    If you are looking for "coral food" I like... Rods Food Coral Blend or Reef Nutrition Oyster Feast Also google "Pappone" if you are thinking of making your own.

    The fan is your best and most inexpensive option. Keep a close eye on the evaporation. Make sure you keep up on top offs. The frozen bottle trick is great for an emergency. Make sure that cap is on tight.

    If you are going to get hermits, I would suggest only getting the dwarf ones. They stay pretty small and are great for getting into the little nooks and picking out detritus. Just my 2 cents.
