If you had to do it all over again...

speaking of rocks. I have a bunch of rock that's been sitting in a bucket for a couple of years. Looks like the best plan there is to soak it in RO/DI for a few days, maybe check phosphates and I should be good. Thinking of seeding it with a piece of live rock from either my LFS or online.

If you had to do it all over again...

Been a while: I'm setting up my RedSea Max 130D for the second time really soon. I've had a 29G, 72G in years past and am ready to learn from all of my mistakes and hit it out of the park this time! LOL. I kept fish and soft corals primarily. I just bought a Digital TDS in/out meter and...

    ID Please

It kind of shrinks into a little ball. They do not sting as far as my fingers are concerned. A possible treatment as far as I'm reading, is to starve them of light. I only have 4 fish in there and only some fuzzy mushrooms. Thoughts on that method? The tank is covered so substaintial...

    Id Please

Yes, very similar. Do barnacles spit out webs then hoist them back in?

    Id Please

Please id this hitchhiker. It spews out a silky spider web looking substance, then ropes it in with two claw looking extremeties. Pretty cool actually..

Officially set up... now the waiting begins

Looks great. I would add a couple more bags of sand if I were you. A deep sand bed goes a long way down the road when it comes to keeping your Nitrates down with beneficial bacteria that grow in it. Welcome to the hobby.

    Advice on Feeding Various Coral

My 34G Red Sea Max tank is stocked with the following coral (below). As you can see I am really just getting started here. I have been feeding a cap full of Marine Snow (Little Fishes) almost every day. The fish are getting a mix of flakes and various brands of pellets. I have been pretty...

    RO/DI Purchasing Advice

I am about to purchase my first RO/DI system and was hoping that some of you could point me in the right direction. There are tons of brands out there in varying price ranges and I want to make sure I go about this correctly. First off, we're not talking about a huge volume per week. I'm...

    WTB: 72g Bowfront Reef Ready

I live on Long Island and am about to move. I currently have a 72g but would love to switch it up with something drilled so I can finally have a sump. I'm not messing with and overflow box.
