If i have a Calcium level of 500 is this ok or is there a way to lower it. I was reading diffrent post and they say a good range is between 400 to 450 for a reef tank.

My fuge looks like a sewer. Alot of brownish color alage growing in side. What is the reason for this, i keep the light on 24/7 maybe thats why or maybe needs some flow?

Does anyone use a 20k 250 hqi light for over top of a reef tank?

Getting ready to move in a few months and just trying to a good equiment list together for my new tank. Sump,lights,protein skimmer etc. I curently have a 55 gallon reef which is built in the wall so everything is staying. I plan on getting a 240 gallon reef and plan on putting it in the wall.

So my lfs was having a big sale on everything in store i needed to get a new bulb for my tank and all they had was a 20k bulb which is really blue. I love the look but will it effect the growth and health of my coral?

Dont really care to much about the energy bill i care more about the bulb not that its much to replace but where every we can save a buck in the SW game we go for it. lol

Hi i was woundering what is the average time that a fuge light should be left on? I been leaveing mine all the time 24/7 but i do not what to if it is not necessary.
