Using tap water( I have well water)....tested for phosphates before using and was practiclly 0.0ppm. As for salt I use instant ocean. Not sure of the brand of food used but I know it says low phosphate on it. I also use homemade mix of shrimp, crab, and scallops.

Ok i currantly have a 20 gallon tank set up and bought an oceanic skimmer that is for the bio cube tanks....it has an air stone tha bblles up into a collection cup....in those tanks it looks like the spot for them is pre set....my question is where do i set the thing up realitve to the water...

yes its on a small peice of rock...have it up closer to the top...but in the middle. Right now I just have a 250watt 10k pendant above the tank.....It has several heads open...here and there today but not alot ..less than 15. The total size is 3 by 3 inches or so.
