Sick Foxface: Please help identify and treat

I added a rabbitfish to my 150 gallon FOWL tank a couple of days ago. I didn't notice it the first day, but the second day I saw it had a pink lump on its mouth. Can someone help me identify it as well as know how to best treat it? my water parameters are 0.0 ammonia, 0.0 nitrite and 0.0 nitrate...

    Refugium and Copepods

Ok, I just wanted to be sure. That is good to know that you haven't had a problem. I was worried that my miscalculation may either end up costing me from being able to have a mandarin, which has been the top of my wish list since I started in the hobby. Thank you for your help!

    Refugium and Copepods

That is good to know thank you. Are you saying I need to put some rock in the chamber with the protein skimmer? I have an 8x6 piece of marine pure to put in my refugium as well as several of small 1-2 inch rocks. I can move the small rocks to the chamber with the protein skimmer.

    Refugium and Copepods

I'm not in any hurry to add one as the last thing I want to do is to get one then watch it starve to death due to not having enough copepods. The purpose of my post was to be sure having a refugium before a protein skimmer wouldn't make it pointless to attempt to cultivate them in the refugium...

    Refugium and Copepods

I agree 100%. I am not looking to add a mandarin now. I do plan on adding one down the road once I have an established population of copepods. My worry is that if I have a refugium in my first chamber and a protein skimmer in the second that the protein skimmer would suck up any copepod that is...

    Refugium and Copepods

I am setting up my sump and forgot to take into account the thickness of the glass when measuring for the first chamber. I do not have enough room to put my protein skimmer in the first chamber. One of the main reasons I want a refugium is to cultivate copepods as I would like a mandarin...

    Emperor Angelfish Tank Size

At some point down the road I am wanting to get an emperor angelfish. I have been reading on it and it seems that just about every site that i've seen has 100 gallons listed as the necessary tank size. However, in the forums I have read I've seen people get after others for having an emperor in...

Wanting to add coral, but not sure about fish

Yeah I guess mostly I was hoping there would be a way a way I could do both as I really like the fish, but have always wanted coral. What type of coral could I have with basic cheap lights? I know there are non photosynthetic coral but everyone I've seen said expert care level and I'm nowhere...

Wanting to add coral, but not sure about fish

I currently have a dot dash butterfly in my tank. I have been wanting to add coral to my tank for a long time, but have been unable to due to not being able to afford proper lighting. Now, at long last I have sufficient lighting for corals, but have the dot and dash butterfly in my tank and have...

Why are my clownfish are swimming at the surface and on their sides?

Yes I have a FO tank and I have about 50 lbs of live rock that has some coraline algae on it, so I may just try and get that to spread over the rocks for some added color.

    Help with New Refractometer

I recently purchased a refractometer after seeing reading about how hydrometers are not as accurate and over time salinity builds up and make them even less reliable. The hydrometer I had been using is only about 6 months old and I would wash it out with hot water after each use. When I test my...

Why are my clownfish are swimming at the surface and on their sides?

I am absolutely not thinking of getting an anenome at this moment. Eventually I want to have coral and everything. But right now I am pretty new to the hobby so I would like to gain some experience before purchasing expensive equipment such as a sufficient lighting system that I would need for...

Why are my clownfish are swimming at the surface and on their sides?

I retested my water last night and everything was still the same as it was before, so my water parameters are good. My biggest worry at this point is my black and white clown did not eat yesterday or this morning. The platinum was actually swimming around last night and has been eating great!
