    Tang Police?

I can think of three species suitable for a 4' long reef tank or a FOWLR. Ctenochaetus truncatus - Kole (Yelloweye) Tang Ctenochaetus strigosus - Blue Spotted Kole Tang Ctenochaetus tominiensis - Tomini (Bristletooth) Tang All typically reach 5" with a max of 6" and are not open water Tangs...

    Tang Police, Need some Advice.

There are no Tangs that are likely to thrive long term in a 3 foot tank (the 65 gallon). The 4 foot tank isn't long enough for most Tangs either. A Yellow-Eye Tang will do fine in a 90 gallon. A Yellow or Purple have a pretty good chance of doing OK as well. A Hippo probably won't do well and...

    Tang picking on new tankmate....

That's one of the symptoms of a Tang that's in a tank too small to house it. A Blue Tang really should be in at least a 6 foot tank and preferably 8 foot or more. The cramped quarters you have your Blue Tang in is causing a normally easy going fish to be aggressive.

    Question for the Tang Police

Not all Tangs are created equal. For the Achilles, Acanthurus achilles, 125 is the absolute minimum. If you wanted to use your 55 as a hospital tank for a couple of months that should be just fine.

Who are and what is the "Tang Police"

Hippo Tangs really need a 6 - 8 foot tank minimum. Even as a 3" fish they will become stressed is they can't "open up the throttle" once in a while. Zebramosa Tangs seem to fare well in 4' tank for a long time. Even as much as 10 years. Eventually though, even the smallest of tanks (the Kole)...

    Questions For the Tang Police

I'm not going to venture into the cruelty part, that's pretty subjective. What is not subjective is that most of your fish will not survive much longer in your aquarium. It's your aquarium so if that's what you want then it's really nobody elses business IMO. If you want your fish to live...
