What would be really cool for us newbie if we had a chart...What I mean by that is depending on how many gallons we have you guys could tell us what kind of lighting to use and what we can keep in it...i.e a reef, fish/reef, if we want a clam.. I am putting a 180 gal. tank in the wall...I do not like the trim as well, however I am putting molding around the edges...makes it look really sharp.... I have a question about your lighting...do you have fans w/ your lights as well? Talk to ya soon! Tim

Thanks..so where can I get some "reef bones". I take it that it is not the same as base rock. Also, are you saying that reef bones will seed better than base rock? And will base rock ever look like live rock over time? What I am really hoping for is that the zoos, mushrooms, anenimones and...

Will my live rock spread to my base rock? I will be purchasing about 60lbs of base rock to make a nice foundation for my tank. I was thinking like "play sand", my base rock would be a cost effective way to build my tank if in fact live rock does grow onto base rock. Thanks for your help! Tim

Yes, I get that when you "seed" the dead sand. I guess I will ask my question this way. Once you seed the dead sand, will it ever die? If so, there will come a point when you keep adding sand. If it does not die then awesome....no more worries. However if it does should you remove the same...

so if it seeds the dead sand, will you ever have to replace it? If so, how much do you add to lets say your size of a tank? By the way, thanks so much for your reply! Tim

Also, how do you know when to add more LS...and when you add LS, do you take out the same amount you put in? Sorry for adding this to your post...it is just I had the same question as you and this would complete my inquiry...sorry again. Tim
