well i was experimenting and i found that a smaller hole cut down the noise. i went a bought a couple extra caps that are on the end of my downpipe where the hole is. first i made the hole bigger and the gurgling became louder and more frequent. i put a new cap on and made a smaller hole and it...
its always done it......i just set the tank up a week ago. if i make the hole bigger wont the water raise in the overflow? how high should the water get in the overflow? its just the noise that is bugging me, its in my living room and all i hear is gurgle gurgle gurgle lol.
a durso standpipe in the built in overflow. it sounds like the gurgling is coming from the ovefflow. when your watching the water in the back of the overflow it fills up a little more than expected then you here it gurgle then it lowers to where its supposed to be. it is syphoning and it makes...

the drain is 1" pipe with a built in overflow not a hang on. a sump rated for 125 gallons. just dont know what size pump to use. i want good flow but i dont want to much for the overflow

im glad shes gone lol. anyway......yea i had a full 125 gallon reef but i moved to a new apartment wich was too small for a 6 ft tank so i sold it. now i can only have a 4ft tank so i got a good deal on a 75 gallon reef ready with stand and canopy.
