anyone have a good way to clean the maxijet powerheads in my 110 reef. they are pretty well covered in coraline alge. i haven't touched them for the 2 years they've been in the tank.
thanks much

the same thing jusy happened to me-dozens of tiny shrimp in my filter of my trickle system. i tried placing as many of them back in my tank as i could, but they immediately became fish food. would love to see some of them survive
i kept it in the same place, but fed it directly with Micro-vert in a syringe and it polyped almost immediately and has stayed that way. even caught some brine shrimp tonight-awesome
i also use sea chem reef advantage and also sea chem reef calcium to keep calcium levels at about 400. i have to add alot to keep my calcium at this level (2 teaspoons each day), but this product also maintains strontium. it's expensive at lfs, but much less if you order it on line
i recently placed a gorgonian- i think its a red sea spray (Leptogorgia sp.) in my 110 reef. put him in medium to high water flow. its has red branches that are very thin with yellow polyps. the polyps only appear for 2-3 hours per day. is this normal ?
thanks
i recently introduced a blue starfish into my 110 gal reef. he came in contact with my torch coral, and has now disappeared in the back of my tank. are inverts like the starfish damaged by the stings of corals ?
