Thanks for the info.. I guess my real concern was that the water was not cycled --meaning that it dosent have the bacteria etc that store bought water has in it..
is this a valid concern?
Thanks again!
Hello,
I am in a predicament.. I got a tank back in January of this year and then was injured and I am suffering with a serious lower back problem. As a result I cannot carry the 5 gal containers of salt water that I was purchasing from my LFS.
Can somone tell me what the pro's and cons of...
I just saw tiny white sanils in my tank too.. i was able to get a pretty good close up shot of them..if you look close you can see is little antler thingys!
to get an estimate of how small this guy is, look at the glass, the foggy stuff is an actually algea bloom.
Is this what yours looks...
Is this rare? I did a search and saw something that said " Has two forms, encrusting and tubular. Not sustainable and rarely seen in the trade"
thanks!
Hey I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this is... i am guessing it is some sort of sponge. it is about 1/2 the size of a penny. Please correct me if i am wrong.
Thanks!
PerfectDark,
Thanks-- The live rock has been in there since the beginning. I took one piece out last week to cut off some Bubble Algea. When was putting the rock back in another one came loose and fell into the sand causing a lot of stuff to stir up in the tank..

pH - 8.3
Ammonia -...
I was carefully examining my tank a few days ago and saw some bubble algea growing. Not having enought time to take the proper steps to take it out, i left it. That same day I added a Foxface and 3 scarlett hermit crabs.
2 Days later the bubble aglea was completely GONE! it was a small patch...
i just got home from my LFS with mine and introduced him into my tank, he immdiatly swam to the bottm and has weged between a rock and glass.. very skittish...
It is about 3 feet tall by 2 feet wide and 2 feet deep.
I was told that its called a "show tank" basically it looks like a regular rectangal aquarium except turned on its side....
i just found a pic online of a very similar one (but this is not mine!!)
I was wondering if a show tank has any different requirements than a regular tank.
I ask because it has less horizontal space for the fish to swim around in and I dont want to over stock.
Has anyone found that fish become more terratorial?
That there is less flow at the bottom of the tank...
I had a coral beauty in my 50 gal tank and he would not eat , I tried a variety of food ranging from shrimp, flake food, and these brownish/red cubes that my LFS told me to use. I had him for a week and he just would not eat. He would swim up to the food and then turn away and not eat. This...
