meowzer i dont mean the coral to be live, but as in beneficial bacteria on it, being that its pretty damn porous. hmm, algae as in food for the tangs? doesnt sound too bad to me haha. so pretty much nothing wrong with adding it?

im not sure if this is the right section to start this thread in, but.. my uncle was telling me about how he has about 10lbs of dead coral that he has from aruba when he went this summer. and asked if i wanted it. now i was wondering.. is there anything positive/negative about putting dead coral...

yeah i definitely hear you. if worst comes to worst ill see what i have to do. but for now i think ill take that 1/100th chance for the time being. I've had the lights out and they seem to be doing there own thing most of the time. I'll be monitoring them, keep them as stress free as possible...

those two guys and a coral beauty. do you think it would be necessary to move the rock work around? they're both new to the tank ive had the lights off since acclimation a few hrs ago.

srfisher, actually the tangs arent going to stay in the 72 for long.. they atcually belong to my marine bio teacher. being that im the only one with a big size tank she know she asked me to hold on to them for summer since she wont be there.

I seen one that's really healthy at my LFS yesterday and I'm considering getting it, and i like to hear how you feel about them. (are the they a good addition to the tank, are they easy to take care of? etc..) i have a vlamingi tang and a blue hippo, so i usually feed flakes and algae sheets...
