Well, the thing is that the brittle star is inside the rock. I see holes for the brittle star that might be able to come out, but I don't think it will. Do I just leave the brittle star there or should I try and break the rock and hopefully hurt the brittle star in the process.......

Beth - The way you described it, I do have velvet! I actually noticed it in my display tank. I do have a Quarantine tank set up. The Q tank is a 10 gal. with one live rock and some sand. Should I put the fish that I do have in the Q-tank?
