i just wonder they would survive if i float them because it seem easier than dripping method? anyone ever float them and they still survive?

Hello there I just bought the reef packages from swf and they are going to arrive soon. My question is do i need to do anything before pouring them into my 40 gallons tank? i also bought one of the cleaner shrimp, can i just float them on my tank for 1 hours and pour him in? Thanks for the help.
