Anyone using the skimmerless Ecosystem method for filtration? How's it going? Is it worth making the switch?

This months issue of Reef Life profiles a tank in Germany that has achieved incredible results. The thought of no protein skimming is certainly little different, but who can argue with these results. Anyone been using this method long term? Any comments appreciated.

Hamilton Belize Sun or Aqua Vim. Anyone using either of these? Really looking for a 250 watt fixture that is a little less bulky. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

Anybody have any experience with these? How do they compare with any other fixture? If money were no object, whats the best double 250 watt MH fixture out there. Looking to place a new fixture over a 110gal thats 30" deep without going to 400 watt bulbs. Overall tank dimensions- 48X18X30

I've had a flame and a coral beauty in my 110 for 4yrs now with no problems. But thats just me. Individual fish are different, it can sometimes be a mistake.

Ready to upgrade. Anyone out there with this fixture? Will this produce enough light so I can keep clams on the bottom of an aquarium thats 31 inches deep, or do I need to go with 250 watt halides? Currently running 2 150's with little success.

The 150's look good but I have always had problems with corals that need light. I don't think the 150's have enough penetration to support things like clams, with a bottom placement. I would really like to try T-5s, maybe a tek fixture. Still undecided. But if metal halide is the way to go I...

I have hundreds of little little brown snails that come out at night. At first I thought no big deal, now they are becoming a nuisance. They are about the size of a pencil lead, maybe a little bigger. Does anyone know of a way to keep them under control? Thanks
