    T5 lighting strong enough?

Im planning on getting into corals and have been researching for a while now. I just purchased a 30" HO deep blue solarmax lighting fixture 24W x 2 (1- 10k and 1- actinic). Is this light strong enough for some soft, zoanthids, and lps corals? Specifically blue mushrooms, ricordiea, frogspawn...

    SNAILS DYING!!

Yeah, the snails smelt pretty awful when I took them out, pretty sure the smell stayed with me the rest of the day. And thanks for all the help guys! I'll do drip acclimation for now on.

    SNAILS DYING!!

I have had my ammonia spike already so I think/ hope that my tank is already cycled. The snails were in my tank for two days and then dropped like flies. And any idea on where I can get a grounding probe? My LFS doesn't have any.

    SNAILS DYING!!

When I added the snails, i just had them sit in the bag for about a half hour and after that I added about about a cup of water to the bag every 20 min until the bag was full, then i just took em out. Any idea when it would be okay to start adding a CUC?

    SNAILS DYING!!

Its a 36 gallon, right now all i have is about 25 lbs of live rock and a percula clown. The tank is about a month into cycling and the clown is pretty healthy. I want to start with a fish only tank and once i get comfortable put some coral.

My levels are pH- 8.2, ammonia-0, nitrates .5 ppm, nitrites-0, temp- 78 F. I also do 15% weekly water changes. I don't know what I'm doing wrong! I...

Why are my snails DYING !

My 36 gallon tank is around a month into cycling and i have one healthy clown right now. I recently introduced one turbo snail and 3 black margarita snails. Within two days they were all dead, and there is plenty of algae on my live rock, in fact it is much needed because i have a pretty bad red...

    Stars and Stripes puffer

I've been having some bad problems with some red hair algae and i got 4 turbo snails and within a week or two it was all gone. Turbos do a great job. One of the best ways to keep tanks real clean is herbivore fish, some snails, and mostly a good amount of protein skimming.

    my live rock

Throw some turbo snails in there, I've been having the same problem but with red hair algae and the turbos are eating it right up!

What is on my LIVE ROCK??!

I'm new to saltwater and i've been reading all i can about this stuff. I just started my 36 gallon about a month ago and my neighbor was willing to give me some live rock, so i could not say no. The live rock was straight out of his tank, but there is a red/purple thick hair-like stuff growing...
