Mostly because of anti racking probably, thats the weakness Ive seen with some of the other I beam / H beam stands. Ive got to assemble the stand on site so would not be able to fit a 10ft welded steel stand down the stairs. Have drawn up plans one made of square steel tubing though but...

Definately, that's why Im using the 2 part stuff this time. 678 lbs empty is what it will weigh. Pinske makes a straight edge 120" long or I could make one but it's risky trying to route material this long. At least I wouldnt feel comfortable doing it by hand. I think I will just have an...

The cast joint should be clear. Sorry for any confusion. If I lay a bead of 42 down and set the tank into it the weight of the tank (678 lbs) would displace the cement and focus the weight on the thin edge. The joint would then esssentially be two sections. An inside one and an outside one...

Im surprised you were able to get those pins out in time. At that point I probably would have resorted to using my teeth and a combination of choice words spoken at a high volume. It would suck to have a metal pin stuck in a seam, but Im sure this has happened before to someone. Thats a tricky...

The heads came off the pins! Did you get them out with pliers? I used a bunch of stainless steel wire from a medical supply place .010 I think it was and MC Bond solvent but had to buy a lot of it because they wont sell small qtys. #42 should be the same as 40 just uses an applicator gun...

The 672 is one Im currently building. Have put together a couple of similar sized tanks over the years since I used to hang out here many years ago. I hate bowing so am making this one thicker, since the panels will be heavier and harder to machine Im going to get them smooth and then use #42...

Has anyone used weld on #42 without annealing? Im tackling another large build soon and this time Im going to try #42. Mainly because of the thickness and size of these for this build. Material on this tank is 1.5" thick. I have the dispenser and despite the high cost it's Swiss made and...

Interesting, Looking at an MRC Orca Pro 2 , it comes with a Reeflo pump? Have no experience with that pump though. It's a needle wheel skimmer. I'll steer clear of the pumps you mentioned though. The other MRC I have my eye on is the MR-6R but it's a recirculating one so different...
