looking for 55 gal or bigger tank in ga

I have an AGA 65 gallon (36x18x24)RR that I'm taking down on the 26th. I also have a metal stand and a DIY canopy (it looks VERY DIY) Make me an offer, would take a small (20-30 gallon) acrylic in partial trade. Jayme jhiratzka@attbi.com

At what point do you worry about weight?

i'm getting ready to start setting up my new 170g. with a 30 gallon sump and possibly my old 65 as a refugium, should I be at all worried about putting this on the first floor and not in the basement? Thanks, Jayme

To anyone who has formosa dx lights...

The fan has a switch on the back right of the hood. Are the fans supposed to be on whenever the switch is on, or is there some kind of thermostat? Thanks, Jayme

    What constitiutes an ammonia "spike"

During cycling, how high does ammonia and NO2 typically get? Also, should a tank be growing algae during its initial cycle? It gets a couple hours of daylight, but I haven't had the lights on. Thanks, Jayme

I've seen a lot of posts mentioning throwing in a storebought shrimp to help the cycle, is this done immediately, after a few weeks, etc? Just throw one in? if there's nothing to eat it, wont it just sit there? Also, how long...
