    Lionfish compatibility and feeding?

With all instruments you need to calibrate. The Milwaukee you zero which is essentially a calibration. With an optical refractometer you need the calibration to make sure it is accurate. The calibration solution is a known specificgravity, typically around 1.026. Before you use it you test it...

    Lionfish compatibility and feeding?

I don’t think any eels will eat the lion. refractometers are easy to use and easy to calibrate. I actually use an electronic one made by Milwauke Instruments. Super easy to use. Just turn it on. Zero it with distilled Water then test.

This is the one I purchased. It is fully expandable so you can add on later.

    Lionfish compatibility and feeding?

You want a refractometer not a hydrometer. Refractometers are accurate hydro meters are not.

    Lionfish compatibility and feeding?

Unfortunately the main competitor, the Reef Keeper, has been discontinued. You can get the basic apex unit for $500.

    Lionfish compatibility and feeding?

You may need more than the two power heads. The apex does turn on and off things. It can ramp things up and down like wave makers and lights. It monitors temp and turns the heaters on and off based on temp. It can send you email alerts if something isn’t working. You can control your tank...

    Lionfish compatibility and feeding?

I Missed the frogfish On your list. I love frogfish but they do best in a species only tank. It may do ok in a peaceful community tank. They are not beginner fish. Like the lion it will eat anything that fits in its mouth and it’s mouth is huge. Tank mates need to be bigger than the frog...

    Lionfish compatibility and feeding?

You need to have a lot more equipment in a saltwater tank. In 200 gallons you will need. probably 4 (maybe more) power heads in the >1000 gph size range, they produce heat. Your return pump produces heat etc. it will take a long time for a 200 gal tank to cool off. You are setting up a very...

    Newbie 24 gallon all-in-one reefer.

I wouldn’t worry about them. They don’t hurt anything. They will multiply to match the food supply. Cut back on food and their population should stabilize and begin to die off.

    Lionfish compatibility and feeding?

You really shouldn’t need that much. I’d start wit maybe 400 and see how it goes.

    Lionfish compatibility and feeding?

I’d go with multiple smaller heaters but only what you need. Too much heater capacity tends to cause frequent on off cycles which leads to early failure. A large heater that fails on will cook the tank pretty quickly. if you keep your house in the 68-72 degree range you shouldn’t need...

    Clownfish keep dying???!

I’d also strongly suggest quaranting new fish to keep disease out of the tank.

Orbit Marine IC Pro Dual LED - Bluetooth

No just an explanation for the default. I’d adjust to whatever you like. Just be aware of the needs of what you want and the needs of what you don’t want. plants need more red light. Corals need more of the blue and UV. My refugium light is very pink looking where my tank light has a lot...

Probably because coral don’t need those wavelengths but algae does.

    Shark tank

there isn’t much of a difference so converting isn’t really that big of a deal. You need: Argonite Sand, a lot of sand. It should be fairly fine. some rock work but not a ton. Bamboo sharks are bottom sharks and too much rock will cause injury. ideally a large sump with an over sized...

    Setup for bamboo shark

They need a very large tank with a sandy bottom. Some rock work is good but it should occupy the minority of the surface area of the bottom. You will need a very good filtration system Because they are messy.
