    I took the nem jump!

I just put up a separate thread about my green carpet anemone. I'd appreciate your opinion on that bizarre situation. https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/index.php?threads/shouldnt-fish-be-scared-to-death-of-approaching-a-green-carpet-anemone.399660/

Shouldn't fish be scared to death of approaching a green carpet anemone?

What, I gotta repeat the question!?! I figured fish would instinctively stay away from the deadly green carpet anemone. Not only do my fish not stay away, but when I feed Ol' Greenie they actually dive into him to steal his food. Even when there's no food they go practically inside his mouth to...

    red fire shrimp

After 9 months my fire shrimp, Stinky, just died. Went from perfectly healthy and following his normal routine to dead. Can't figure it. It definitely wasn't near the end of its life span of 2.5 years when I bought him.

    I took the nem jump!

For those of you following my exploits with my LFS you can add that one to the "screwing with me" list. They sold me the butterflies with the assurance they were safe for my tank, and they know what I have in my tank.

    I took the nem jump!

A few weeks ago I bought a white one. No problem. Then a week later I bought a green one. Suddenly my Golden Butterfly decided they were good eatin' and started picking away at both of them. Needless to say they disappeared overnight and I have no idea where, although the white one popped up the...

    Show off your tank(s)!!

Yes, I'm nuts. I picked up a Majestic and Emperor Angel today. Turned the lights off, put them in. Slowly getting the lights back up. Keeping my fingers crossed. I put the new Queen in after the Blue Face and the Blue Face didn't bother him. Queen annoyed some new additions but stopped after a...

    Protein Skimmer

I had a 140 gallon saltwater tank in the early 80s. My substrate was dolomite, I had two 200 gph power heads sucking water through an under gravel filter, a hob filter pumping about 600 gph. Water came from the tap, and I'm talking Houston water. You can't even make ice with that crap. I had...

Yeah, I'm pretty much set now. I would have liked to be more out in the country (which this place was when we first bought it!). It's more sub/rural now. I'm stuck because I can't get another mortgage now that my wife has passed away. Still, my living conditions are comfortable. It could be a...

Tell me about it! After spending the first 10 years of my life in the Bronx, my family started a pattern of moving every year and a half or so. I hate moving.

    Flame Angel and Large Angel

Are you concerned about the Flame or the Regal? You're confusing me. My LFS also has a beautiful Regal Angel but it's not eating and I don't know if the Queen will bother it if I did get it (I won't, my tank is nicely balanced now and I don't need aggression). If you're afraid of the Flame...

    Flame Angel and Large Angel

Nothing is more of an aggressive pain in the ass than a queen angel and the one I had was really bad, and he ignored my flame once he realized the flame could easily outmaneuver him. I got rid of him and got another queen and he also leaves the flame alone. I seriously doubt a regal could be...

    Protein Skimmer

One of the first portable phones came in a suitcase and was presented to Michael Lang to be used during the Woodstock Festival in 1969. The guy was a shyster who wanted the food concession for the festival. He also brought a silver platter with a pot roast inside that he proceeded to carve up...

    Flame Angel and Large Angel

I've used that same exact example. There's a woman who goes to my LFS who has a 150 gallon. She has seven HUGE fish in her tank. A 10" clown trigger, a 10" blond naso tang, 9" Blue Face, etc. They didn't grow to that size, she buys them that big. I was wondering why my LFS was ordering so many...

    Flame Angel and Large Angel

I have a 6" blue face angel, a 4" Queen Angel, and just added a 1 1/2" Flame Angel. The Flame will be fine once he learns all his escape routes, assuming you have rock work. Once the Queen realized he couldn't catch him he left him alone, even when he's out in the wide open portion of my tank.
