Exactly where do bubble tip anemone like to perch?

Any ideas on what possibly could have gone wrong? Water is optimal, all mushrooms are thriving, the green carpet, while I'm not crazy about where he decided to take root, is doing great, all fish are healthy. I know my salinity has fluctuated a bit lately. Are they susceptible to slight changes...

Exactly where do bubble tip anemone like to perch?

He died. The part that was attached to my overflow got smaller and smaller. I nudged it slightly and it came right off, didn't react, big white but not gooey blob where the mouth is. He came out without a fight and is now in anemone heaven, a/k/a the toilet. So long, old friend...*sniff*...

Some of my beautiful fish ! Warning Photo Heavy.

Were those taken by the same photographers that did the other pics? EDIT: Oh crap, what a moron. Those ARE the other pics, jenny just resurrected the thread

Exactly where do bubble tip anemone like to perch?

OK I don't know if I'm going to get a quick answer here, but my bubble tip appears dead. If it's at least attached to something is it still alive? I've poked at it and it doesn't react in any way.

Exactly where do bubble tip anemone like to perch?

Both of mine are starting to scare me. They look like they WANT to die. They make no effort to get to the food. The bubble tip is in full deflation mode right now, but then he'll be fully inflated an hour from now. I know that's standard operating procedure, but if there's such a thing as shy...

Exactly where do bubble tip anemone like to perch?

Mine did the opposite. I have two powerheads that were positioned to create sort of a pleasant vortex effect, a circular flow around the tank. When I changed the position of one so that they crashed into each other in the front middle of the tank, then flowed back towards the anemone, that's...

Exactly where do bubble tip anemone like to perch?

Thanks for the info! Yeah, I heard about the powerhead trick but I also heard it sometimes doesn't work at all (thank you very much, Mr. Saltwatertank!) As for corals I only have mushrooms. Remember I have Angels so no "real" corals for me. It's hard to tell if the carpet is shrinking because...

Exactly where do bubble tip anemone like to perch?

Talk about coincidence. I literally just came upstairs to my computer to come to this thread and ask another anemone question. How weird! Well, my bubble tip has permanently placed himself at the back of the tank between the upflow and a rock. If that isn't hard enough to access, my green...

    Show off your tank(s)!!

ok, I'm going to bed. This is the url of my latest video. It's uploading as I type this and will probably be ready for viewing by 9:30 a.m. DST. I had to change the music and re-render. The old song was too annoying.

I always remember them being called hippo tangs, and occasionally blue tangs. And Ive been aggravated by this hobby since 1976.

Why do you call it a regal? I thought you meant a regal Angel. You always called it a blue tang, an acceptable name for a hippo tang. Perfect size! If it were to catch you know what, it will survive. And a blue jawed trigger? That came out of left field :-) I'm sure you know this but let your...

You do realize you can edit your comments for about 5 minutes, don't you? And I said I'm rendering video as we speak! But if you're ok with raw un-processed footage, here's a sneak preview. EDIT: See how easy it is? I just saw your latest PM. Pics of the Regal, please!!!! And then take this...

Majestic died. Can't understand why, he was amazingly strong. No fungus or nipped fins, perfect specimen to the end. Just stopped eating. Was actually micro inches from death for 3 days, laying dead at the bottom of the tank, then suddenly up and swimming in the corner again. I can't understand...

Protein Skimming: What, Why and When

This has gotten beyond the point of ponderous. If it's 5-7" BELOW where it should be it doesn't do anything, and if it's 4" ABOVE where it should be the collection cup fills with and overflows with water. And that's the end of it. I'm unfollowing this thread. P.S. Thanks, peg. I read your...

Protein Skimming: What, Why and When

Well, that was kind of the gist of the joke  Snake, for the last, last, last, last, LAST time. I'm not talking about the foam raising or lowering or the tiny bubbles between the foam and the water level, I'm talking about the water level. THE WATER LEVEL!!!!
