    Best Reef Salt and Go!!!

Hot salt has been kinda popular in some circles. A lot of people are using aqua vitro and tropic Marin. I've used practically everything on the market. I keep going back to instant ocean, simply because it's cheap and consistent and I am going to three part dose my system anyway.

    Zoah folding backwards?

Zoanthids will fold up and also fold out, depending on what they prefer at the time. I wouldn't worry about it unless you see them melting or simply disappearing overnight.

    Beginner corals

If you have any test kits, I suggest testing your parameters to see where they are sitting before adding some corals. Make sure you have proper lighting as well. Green star polyps, mushrooms, anthellia, zoanthids, Xenia, ricordia, tree leathers, finger leathers, toadstools, protopalythoas...

Setting up my JBJ 28 Biocube!

    1. 75-100w heater is fine, depending on your homes ambient temperature. 2. Only use purified water to mix your salt with. Always follow the directions on the box for mixing. Getting a $25 refractometer will save you a headache in getting the right salinity. 3. Only top off your tank with...

    Copepods on DT glass

Yeah, you will have an explosion of them and then they die off or find somewhere else to stay once you get a fish or two. Next you'll be complaining about flatworms! I got the tiny ones all over my glass now. Lol

    5g tank pic upload

Photobucket finally cut me off. They said that they got tired of me using them to upload pictures to third party websites. So, whatever. I haven't uploaded anything in a while. It's only 5g, but it's a lot of maintenance to keep the chemistry stable, which is part of why I enjoy it so much...

    Good Protein Skimmer????

SC aquariums makes a small one for a 65g that is about $100. Tunze DOC 9001 would do fine as well and is about $120. Tunze has a brand name that they have backed up with quality products and services for a very long time in the hobby. Just know that you get what you pay for.

I'm back with a question guys!

Buy test kits. Keep your calcium, alkalinity and magnesium within proper parameters and keep your organic nutrients low. Six months to a year and everything should be covered. Nothing in this hobby is quick. Try to force it and things backfire.

Black Insert Help for my 65?

Hmm. Every time I have DIY siliconed acrylic to glass I had seal failure. But it's ok, if it's all in-tank, then there isn't anything to really worry about.
