    5g reef

Sorry for not keeping the thread as updated as I should. Everything is going well with the tank. I have a 2g water change ready for tomorrow. I really need to clean the glass soon. Anyways, maybe I'll post some pictures tomorrow. Goodnight everyone.

I'm sure there may be some lateral line diseases attributed to using GAC. But as far as my tank goes, I don't have any problems so far.

Love it. I don't think I will run another tank without some or something similar. It keeps the water crystal clear... I replace it every 30 days.

Another 2g water change scheduled for this Saturday. Coralline is starting to grow pretty well. I think the tank is maturing nicely. Pics to come.

2g water change this evening. Gonna scrape the glass first. Corals are doing great! After the water change I'll test the parameters and adjust accordingly.

Copepods everywhere! I need a glass scraper. The algae is starting to get hard. It's no longer the slime algae. I guess the tank is maturing. I gotta find some new filters for the sump area. Corals are looking happy and healthy. Nothing outta the ordinary. I'm gonna test for calcium and...

I'm going to mess with the lighting times and intensity some today. Hopefully I'll get it to a happy medium.

Wow. Within 15 minutes a little bag of chemipure blue cleared up the tank and made the smell go away. The corals perked up too. Awesome. I'll definitely keep it in the system.

I'll have to do a water change on the tank tomorrow. Something seems a little off with the tanks inhabitants. Zero nitrate, zero phosphate. Calcium was at 400ppm and alkalinity sat at 10dKh. Nothing really wrong with the water quality from my experience. I did smell the water and it has a...

I added 3ml more seachem reef fusion 1 this morning. That's calcium for people who don't know what it is. I also added some amino acids to the tank. I'll check this evening to see where the parameters are at. The corals are popping out and looking g good though.

Not exactly difficult, to me anywsys. Most corals are also pretty forgiving. I guess you do have to have a certain amount of chemistry knowledge to maintain a small reef. I'm going to go home this afternoon and test it again to see how much 3ml of that seachem reef fusion 1 solution brought it...

    5g reef

I tested alkalinity this morning. It came out to be 11dKh. So I was able to drop it some with the 50% water change. Tested calcium this morning. It was sitting at 360ppm. I put 3ml of seachem reef fusion in the tank. Hopefully that brought it up to 420ppm. Just going to take some practice and...
