Help dwarf seahorse stuck at birth

I think the baby is seriously stuck, males do a kind of jerk motion and release their babies... I posted in a private message for Robert to contact the emergency seahorse.org site... I have never heard of such a thing, it doesn't sound good. Those little tiny dwarfs would be hard to help.

    New to the Hobby

Yep...ask them to order a larger tank, that's how I got mine... the mom and pop stores I think are much better then *****, they just want to sell what's on the floor, so ask for a manager if they try and tell you they can't..

Glass...you couldn't give me an acrylic display tank. They scratch, and coralline loves plastic, making it look horrible in no time.

    New to the Hobby

I knew I wanted a reef right off. I couldn't pull myself away from a coral exhibit, I just kept finding new stuff to be amazed at the longer I looked... it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Ahhh, and then there are seahorses.

    New to the Hobby

Hi, Welcome to the site! A reef tank means you want corals, a softie is a type of coral, as is LPS and SPS, FOWLR is fish only, with live rock. LOL...When I first started out, I had no idea what any of those terms were, so just in case, I thought I would explain them. The world of freshwater...

    Circulation Pump

LOL...I may be showing my age, but I thought of magnets before they came on the market for power heads. In fact the LFS told me if I ever figure out how to do it, to patant it, he was sure it would sell...LOL

    Circulation Pump

Hi, If your power head has those three little cups, the vibration is what is making it not stay put, I don't care how smooth, or new the suction cups are. Now the one with the one big suction cup, with a clip is much better, and that one has to have a good smooth surface to make sure it makes...

I just set up a new tank and not having much luck.

Hi, This thread is from January..so you wouldn't get a response. Very true, LFS are out to make a buck...not all are bad, but beginners don't know good advice from bad. That's what makes this forum so good...if somebody gives advice that isn't so good, somebody with more knowledge will pipe in...

    Water Change Volume Question

I didn't get into keeping saltwater until I was 40, until then I was just listening to people who had them. Most didn't continue, and said it was too expensive. I never heard of power heads creating a current to mimic the waves in all that time, or live rock for surface area, although I knew...

    Red thread algae HELP

Hi, I don't think it was wise to use your tanks water, there is very little good bacteria in water...it's all on the surfaces. Sterilizing things didn't help because you killed the good bacteria you did have. Check the nitrates and phosphates, Both will feed nuisance algae. New tanks go...

    Water Change Volume Question

There was a time...about 30 some years ago. The goal was to set up an aquarium, so that it took care of itself. A system that didn't need the tank broke down for cleaning, food or any involvement from humans. I never reached such a goal, nor ever heard of anyone who did, but that was the...

    Water Change Volume Question

I had tons of macros, and my seahorses died one by one, it took a few years. I COULDN'T do proper water changes, I also dosed Cal and Alk, magnesium always was where it was supposed to be...I did small changes, so not completely none as you have. I don't recommend it. The tank looked bad, just...

    Xenia dead?

What Pegasus said... Mine became a pool of mushy goo because my lights needed new bulbs...but before I could afford new ones, it was too late. A few months after I got the bulbs, I noticed tiny hairs where the xenia used to be, and in a few weeks...I could tell it was baby xenia! Never give up...

    Water Change Volume Question

Bio balls in a HOB??? You really don't need them. You have live rock, sand and many other surface areas with good bacteria. You are only going to have as much good bacteria as you have waste, no matter what, or how much surface area you have...so why make something else to have to clean up...

I guess my urchin like my GSP

LOL... The one I was referring to getting big fast, are the black spine urchins. I never heard of a rock boring urchin...that doesn't sound good. At any rate, I know you said your wasn't a problem. The ones I had a beef with, were the pincushion....What Chrisely24 has, I am no urchin expert by...
