I think the Shrimp do remove some of the parasites and do make the fish feel a little better but as a cure they fall short.

I think it's fine if you are getting the sand from a healthy reef. I would not collect from shore. I do not know if it's legal so you might want to look that up for your area.

If there is more than one fish in a tank then there can be aggression. I'm not saying that's the issue here but a bunch of fish in a small tank doesn't make it unlikely. Beth has been around a bit, she's been pretty good with identifying issues and how to resolve them.

Patience. Changes to the system should be gradual and well thought out. Do the research before you buy.

It will settle down. If it's not real live sand it could take a few days but it will happen once bacteria coats all of the sand grains.

It could be a tiny leak as suggested above, but it could also be cavitation. This happens when intake cannot keep up with the speed of the impeller and vacuum bubbles are formed on the back of the blades. Thi is easy to test for. Restrict the output a little to see if the bubbles stop...

Instead of a Wrasse there are quite a few Gobies or Blennies that would work well with he Clownfish. A couple Neon Gobies, a couple Clown Gobies, Barnacle Blenny, etc. Small docile fish that tend to just hang out. An Antenna Goby with a Tiger Pistol Shrimp is very entertaining and would work...

I agree. While there is bacteria in the water, it's not much compared to the surfaces. There's no real reason to reuse old saltwater.

Three Clownfish rarely works out. You will have a much better chance of success with two. Anemone are not a good idea for a new hobbyist in my opinion. Their needs seem simple but high water quality is not as easy to maintain as you would think. They are also light demanding.
