Pufferfish looking skinny with strange lump from gills?

No clue what the lump is. I suspect he has some sort of infection and that is what is growing around his mouth, it isn’t plants. Either bacterial or fungal Infection.

    Making saltwater in advance

Absolutely. I make new water after every water change so it is ready for the next. I use a Norwesco 35 gal vat. I have it plumbed with a recirculating pump that mixes the water then with the opening of one valve and closing of another it pumps directly to my tank. I’ve had water mixed and...

    Anthias

I don’t have any but also have been considering them for a long time. I think the big issue is food and swimming space. They need to be fed several times a day. I recently bought an Apex Controller so I can monitor my tank while I’m in the Philippines in March. Last time I went on a dive trip...

    Coral turning green - help!

White corals are bleached, they don’t have their zooxanthella. The zooxanthellae are the symbiotic algae in coral and anemones that provide their nutrition. Once corals bleach, they tend to die. The reason I suspect the algae has settled on the white corals is light is able to get through the...

    Coral turning green - help!

Coral shouldn’t be white unless it is dead. Algae is caused by excess nutrients. You need to get them down to prevent algae growth. Increasing flow also helps.

How long to acclimate clean up crew?

I just temp acclimate. Float he bag for around 30 min. Then dump most off the water and dump them in. Your tank should be at the correct salinity so dripping shouldn’t be necessary.

Just got my first 2 soft corals NEED HELP!!

Not unusual. They need a decent amount of light but not as much as SPS or anemones. Flow depends on the coral.

    New Dwarf Lionfish Help

I doubt the eel took it. They are venomous and it would have stung the eel. If it had died for another reason the CUC could have made it disappear pretty fast. i agree with Jay, it may be hidden in the rocks. Give it some time.
