    Anemone staying closed up..

It depends on the size tank. I have a 120 with 4 Kessil 360s and it isn’t enough light for a nem

    Anemone staying closed up..

Anemones need very intense light. More than most every other invert. Your nem is slowly dying because it isn’t getting adequate light to support the symbiotic algae in its tissue. That algae is the source of most of the anemones nutrition.

    Salt levels

Simply match your water change water to your target. It is a good idea to also test the tank at the same time.

    Newbie 24 gallon all-in-one reefer.

More like 6 weeks for brooklynella. The parasites are in the tank. As long as there are fish the parasites will live. For the parasites to die the fish have to be removed from the tank. Ideally treated for brooklynella as well.

    New live rock inverts

Salinity should be a bit higher at 1.025-1.026 for inverts. They are more sensitive than fish.

    New live rock inverts

The cycling process takes about 6-8 weeks. It is normally done with the live rock in the tank. It is a period of time where your bacteria cultures are colonizing the tank. You should be ghost feeding the tank and watching the ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels. The tank isn’t cycled until...

    Newbie 24 gallon all-in-one reefer.

I think you can do 6 weeks with brook. The treatment would be formalin for the other fish In your tank. Needs to be in a hospital tank. In the future I’d quarantine all your future fish to prevent this from happening.

    I'm back at it again

You’ll love the reefer. I’ve always wanted one of those. I do take off for a couple weeks at a time. I use an auto feeder and the rest takes care of itself.

    I'm back at it again

I have a 120 gallon. I’ve been keeping reef tanks for over 20 years. My approach is to keep things simple. The only fancy gadget I have is a reef keeper lite system that I use only for temperature. Keeps the risk of heater failure to almost 0. I rely on my live rock and skimmer for...

    New tank

You don’t need a sump. I wouldn’t use canisters they are poor choices for salt water. You can run it with hang on the back filters. They are much better for SW. in a well balanced properly stocked SW tank you don't really need need a filter. The live rock provides the filtration. I have a...

    210 stand

I’ve built many stands over the years and have never had an issue with that. I do pick my lumber very carefully for the top part. Largest I’ve done was a 125. I did have a center support on that one So the span was only e feet. My current one is a 120 with a 5 foot span. I’m thinking a big...

    Newbie 24 gallon all-in-one reefer.

Be careful about getting too many coral in a small tank. Corals can be very aggressive. They conduct chemical warfare. If they are too close together they will kill each other. LPS are particularly aggressive. I’d hold off on a clam for a while. They can be pretty touchy. If one dies it...

When to do 1st SW media change?

With a canister filter you need to clean it weekly. If I were you I’d buy a hang on the back filter. They are better for salt water and the maintenance isn’t as labor intensive.
