    My tank is too perfect

Duuuuude, those are fake corals. By sliced up you mean video transitions? That's because I was making a video featuring the newest additon, the Naso Tang, and he wasn't in the shot at all times. But I'm touched that you think those corals were real. Another notch to add to my initial post

    My tank is too perfect

Um, what I meant is, opinions on what I should do. Not opinions on how great I am. I realize this is a freak situation. I usually screw up everything I touch.

    My tank is too perfect

Yes, I'm sure you all wish you had this problem, but it is so perfect right now it concerns me. Let me explain. My fish are all doing great, even the Yellow Tang that was almost beaten to death by another Yellow Tang. Everyone is eating and swimming happy. My crabs and Fire Shrimp are all still...

    phosban reacyor questions

Did you get it fixed? I had the same problem. I don't have a pump pushing water into it, the water from the return flow pump is diverted into it. At first I, too, was getting some good tumbling, then after a day it slowed down considerably to almost nothing. My LFS guy claimed there were too...

Filter socks are a pain to replace!!!

Sometimes I could really smack the crap out of the guys who installed my plumbing and filtration (I couldn't do it myself because of a bad back). The way it's set up, I have to be a world class contortionist to reach the back filter sock to remove it. On top of that the overflow tubing going...

Fish are calm, swimming, happy, until....

Probably as accurate a description of the now former problem as I've read. All are doing well now.

Success! My fish have all returned to normal and putting on a fantastic display. And you were all worried! :D

Fish are calm, swimming, happy, until....

That's what I do! I don't even linger long enough to shut the cover. I put the food in the tank then slink away stealthily, go to the other side of the room, and watch. I'm telling you, I can be practically inside the tank and they still swim around normally, not bothered by my presence. It's...

Fish are calm, swimming, happy, until....

Please note my winky face. And it's the whole tank, including the angels, who go into hiding, when literally a few seconds before I tossed the food in they were swimming like they didn't have a care in the world. And now, to make things even weirder, the Majestic and Queen only come out and...

Really? Is this the level of advice I can expect from "saltwaterfish.com" !?!?!;)

Fish are calm, swimming, happy, until....

Nothing. Like I said, this morning, before I put the food in, the tank was spectacular. I even texted my brother about how amazing it looked and what a great show the fish were putting on.

Fish are calm, swimming, happy, until....

I do, water is perfect. It peaked and now ammonia is 0, nitrites 0, etc. Just now I stood by the tank for a minute or so. Nobody cared, they kept swimming like I wasn't even there. I dropped a piece of seaweed into the tank and boom, off they went, behind the rocks, peaking out in fear. Afraid...

Fish are calm, swimming, happy, until....

Believe it or not yesterday made two weeks that the tank is up. Water quality is perfect. Tank is cycled. Had most of the fish for a week. Added a Majestic and Queen Angel yesterday. All fish were acclimated nicely and they came up to me when they saw me by the tank. Like I said, everything was...

Fish are calm, swimming, happy, until....

No pets, just my son who's 21 and doesn't "run around the house" ;-) No, as I said they were fine, swimming, getting along, foraging for food. I walked up to the tank, still all cool, I poured the mysis shrimp into the tank and THEN they scampered to the back and acted all spooked. Now, having...

Fish are calm, swimming, happy, until....

I put freakin' food in the tank. Then they HIDE! Like they never saw food before. It's so strange. They're constantly looking for food until I throw some in (mysis shrimp in this case), then they all go behind the rocks and cower in fear until the food settles to the bottom of the tank, and even...

Aren't Yellow Tangs supposed to school?

This was actually the day before. It really happened from one day to the next, no buildup, just sudden insane aggression. As for the Naso, there is no way I'm ordering fish online. I would be too skittish handling the acclimation. But I'll check it out. My LFS has them for $75 bucks. Where do...

Aren't Yellow Tangs supposed to school?

I've had many Naso's over the years and they've all been docile. One of my favorite fish. Kole Tang's I've never really cared for so I won't be getting one. I like Achilles Tang's too but they seem to have gotten more difficult to keep now, and far more expensive than other Tang's. Here's a link...
