    Fake coral

Lol i tried that. Took a water sample to a lfs. My salinity was a bit high i knew that. My nitrates as he put it where WAY up there lol. Said even his corals that liked it high would be like wth lol. So i got far more religious with my water changes. 11 gal a week. Everything seems much better...

    Acclimating saltwater mollies to freshwater?

Kudos on you caring about the mollys. Mollys actually do best brackish, most live bearers are the same. Platys, swords, guppies, ect. So if you only want molly's in a tank just fill it up with water from a water change. Then add fw when you do a water change in that tank. Just keep the salt...

    Fake coral

Agreed. Alot of softies love a " dirty" tank. Meaning higher trates. Not over like 40-50 ppm lol but over 10ppm is fine.

    55 gallon tank

Its possible yes. However given your "want" for a dwarf angel a 55 is not best. Best case it works fine and no issue. 2nd option bc of being a smaller tank the angel is aggressive with other fish. Worse case its not only aggressive it also starts eating your coral. The reason we both say it...

    Fake coral

Biggest issue is alagae growth on it. You can try and combat it but you'll never get it all. That said. You can try some easy coral. Zoas, mushroom, ect. While some of it is costly, the avg colors are very reasonable. Going by your past stock, really all you'd have to watch is a dwarf angel...

    55 gallon tank

I agree with imforbis. The biggest mistake people make is over stocking a reef tank. Its either fowlr or reef. A true reef tank has substantially less fish then a fish only tank. Its harder to keep a balanced reef with the more fish you add. I have 9 fish in my 220 . Two of those max out at...

    55 gallon tank

A flame is one of the hardest to keep out of the dwarfs. They also are not reef safe, its generally more of when not if they nip at your coral. The lighting i agree with imforbis. Orbit are fine for easy or lower light softies. Mushrooms, zoas, ect

    55 gallon tank

If you haven't bought the tank yet. Get a 75 not a 55. A 55 is more limited in foot print. That said on your list in a 55. Pair of clowns, hawk, either xmas or 6 line wrasse and file fish. Thats really it off your list. Rest need a bigger tank

    First water test

I agree. You don't mention tank size. The bigger the tank the longer it may take to register anything. However it will spike and it will cycle. Just be patient

    New to the saltwater aquarium

Agree with above. Personally i think a 75 is the ideal "starter" tank for sw

Yellow Tang sick! No idea what he has!!

I agree with 2quills. If your lfs dates the received date on the tanks. I usually go for the latest dates. I got my scopus 3 wks ago. The lfs got it in early dec. No issues. If you order online look for a min of 2 wks guarantee on fish

    New 29g FOWLR tank

    Good point imforbis.

    New 29g FOWLR tank

All depends what you want to do with the tank. Personally i wouldn't run a tank w just lr and a skimmer. You would be better suited to add atleast a hob filter aswell

    Clam Death

Its a very new tank. You will have various things start growing and such. Its normal, no need to try and fight it. Balance will clear it all up over time. That said, cleaner clams are useless. They die fast and do almost nothing
