All corals are stressed when you first get them, some may take up top two weeks to bloom. Do you run carbon? Corals have chemical wars, if the coral is down stream of a more aggressive type, that could be one reason. Also leathers like good strong water flow to help them shed.

Why buy a bunch of frozen foods from the fish store, to mix it up and refreeze it...isn't refreezing stuff unhealthy? JMO... Once it was frozen you should have just put it in the freezer, and fed the frozen a bit after you thaw and rinse it. If you want your fish to have a variety of foods...buy...

The problem with flake food is that it has the highest phosphates. All fish foods have phosphates, but we are able to rinse frozen foods. Phosphates are the main fuel for nuisance algae, and cloudy tanks. Running carbon makes clear water since it absorbs and reduces toxins.

Hi, You should not be cleaning your filters once a week...good bacteria builds on it and helps keep the tank stable. Is the cloudy water white or green? Bacterial blooms mean you have too much organic material in the water...do you run a skimmer? This link explains things in better detail...

To be perfectly honest...I never quarantined my Sand sifters, because I knew they couldn't eat in a bare bottomed tank. They have to sift sand and feed on the fauna in it...that's all they eat. Like I said, when frozen Mysis dropped to the bottom, the sand sifter ate it, and learned that it was...
