    When is a white spot NOT a PARASITE?

    But what if the fish was acquired using potassium cyanide. It would then go through the whole selling chain and is purchased from my LFS my yours truly. Chances are it will not make it. But wait it is I who has this fish and yes the evil one cares for it and gives it a new lease on life

    Reef tank filtration

    The number of fish you can have is a direct correlation to the size of the tank you have. The general rule is one inch overall length of fish for every 5 gallons of water BUT that does not take into consideration bio load due to what the feeding requirements of the fish you are keeping. How...

    Any good coral to put with torch?

    IMO you don't want to put anything close to your Torch coral. Euphyllia will extend their tentacles and sting any coral near them. BUT you can keep other Euphyllia close to one another. Frog spawn, hammer est.

    Reef tank filtration

    The amount of fish you have is not predicated on the amount of filtration, it is the amount of nitrification and denitrification that dictates how many fish you can have. Geridoc how does W/D media produce lots of nitrates? The amounts of nitrates produce are a result of nitrification which is...

    FOTW= Foxface Rabbit fish

    Just a thought on adding fish. There may come a time down the road you may want to add a new fish. If you are not sure if the existing tank mates will harass him or her you can rearrange the rock work. This will cause all the fish to establish new territory

    catalaphyllia jardinei (elegance)

    Fingers crossed for you my friend FWIW I reached out to a fellow hobbyist who has elegance in his tank for quite some time. His thoughts are you may not have enough nitrates in your tank. Too much circulation and light The coral is not fed correctly. You could have chemical warfare going on.

    Getting into coral

    Just my .02 Lugols dip for corals works great. But it’s expensive. Now for us cheap old school guys. Povidone-iodine that comes in 8 oz bottle for about $4. 00. Mix it in the amount of saltwater you are using for the dip until it’s the color of strong tea. 2 to 5 minutes rinse in fresh water...
