Thanks everybody for all of your advice so far. I picked up a stand pretty cheap on Craigslist and went with Marineland emperor 400 hob filter. Got 45 lbs of live rock and 60lbs of pink Fiji sand going in later tonight when get home from work.

I was at my leasing office today and looks like I could possibly move into a bigger place on 1st floor. There is one open in my building but it has carpet. I'm going to do at least 200 gallons but the carpet worries me. Should I stick with one with hardwood floors or be ok with carpet.

Now obviously I have some time before adding any fish and corals but what do you recommend for that size tank. The only definite fish are a pair of ocellaris. Corals something good for beginners

Flower this might be a stupid question but what is the best way to hook up a sump to a tank that is not reef ready? unfortunately 55 is the biggest that was in the sale. I have 72 bowfront FOWLR tank as well but wanted to see how I did with a few corals before going all out if that makes sense.

prob soft and good for beginners. Obviously got a bit before adding any coral or livestock. Hoping to pick up a stand, filter and heater this weekend and start cycling. Only fish defintely know I would like to keep in there is the obvious pair of Ocellaris.
