Air Bubbles bad for Saltwater aquarium?

This is probably just a false alarm but I feel I should bring it up anyway and you can just correct me if I'm wrong. I have not heard of a Black & White Percula, I believe only Ocellaris have that color morph. It could be that I'm just lagging behind the times and someone has bred that color...

    LED Question

Apologies. There are lots of ways to set up your system. I know it can get confusing if you get too many details. If it were me I would lean toward the experience of someone that has used a specific LED successfully. That doesn't include me but does include Pegasus.

    LED Question

Are we discussing lighting for Anemone/corals or for coralline? I agree, many types of coralline do not do well under intense lighting.

Air Bubbles bad for Saltwater aquarium?

As long as you keep up with the salt creep I don't see any issue.

    LED Question

I have a different opinion - not that I'm right but my experience differs. I've seen the zooxantellae population adapt to just about any visible light spectrum and I've even seen some adapt to UVA light (but that wasn't 100% successful). In my opinion a 10K a Actinic would be just fine...

    Emerald Crab

Right, it's measured in parts per million for shrimp. That's what I mean by not significant It's not like chewing on the bones of a vertebrate. From a dietary perspective shrimp chitin is not a significant source of Calcium. If you get into Lobsters or some of the harder shelled crabs then...

Blue hippo tang laying in anemone normal??

Carpets will be about the worst but yes, fish are part of natural prey for Anemone. Bubble tips are about the least likely to eat a healthy fish.

Blue hippo tang laying in anemone normal??

It doesn't appear that the tentacles are sticking to the Anemone. Is that the case? If the nematocysts fire the tentacle should stick to a Tang like superglue. Tangs have almost no body slime so eventually the Anemone is going to get hungry and the nematocysts will fire. Perhaps after a good...

    New used tank setup questions

I once solved that issue in my lagoon. I set up a single bright light at the peak of the live rock and kept squirting the Aiptasia with boiling water using a turkey baster until they stopped crawling up to the light. I didn't mind a few but this process eliminated about 99% of them.

    Emerald Crab

I'm sure the chitin in shrimp shells is tasty, I know I prefer to cook my shrimp in the shell for the flavor, but there really isn't a significant amount of calcium in them. I'm not sure where that myth started.

I can't think of anything. Ask if there are any undesirables in the tank like flatworms or red Amphipods, etc.

    Sand and Rock in Hawaii

You may want to review the local laws regarding taking rock. I wouldn't think taking sand would be an issue but it would be worth making sure. The economy in Hawaii is much different than here because most companies charge a LOT more to ship there. So, it would be difficult to estimate a cost.
