Ammonia should be zero. Any detectable ammonia will burn fish’s gills.

Try some prime. Ammonia is given off when silicone cures.

The fact that it is mold resistant makes me think it isn’t aquarium safe. I stick with silicone that specifically says aquarium safe. What is the part # for the product should be in the format of GE####

It very well may have. I had one that took my small tomini tang. I saw it grab the fish and retreat into the rocks.

I used the same overflow, also had bubbles. It was never an issue.
