All's well that ends well. May one door close and another open. I hope you stick around a bit.

Is this everything I need for my filtration

Gate valves are really expensive! I'd get a ball valve if I was just setting the flow speed from a return pump. Gate valves would be great for something like a bean animal overflow. Rio pumps have always failed me when I used them as return pumps. Every. Single. Time. Mag drive pumps are...

    Keeping sand clean

Any suggestions of some organisms that clean and filter sand? The top layer of my sandbed has a buildup of stuff on it and I'd like to get something that will do well in my tank with three damsels. Suggestions?

    alkalinity and ph

What brand salt are you using? It could be a bad batch of salt. Mix up a half gallon or so and run a calcium, all and mg test on it. It could be that your batch of salt wasn't completely mixed at the wholesaler, which has been the case for many people that can't get their parameters under control.

    alkalinity and ph

50% water change with a quality salt will sort out any problems with your chemistry and will reduce nitrate nd phosphate buildup and clean out detritus. Get that magnesium test kit and keep it at about 1350ppm. It's probably a magnesium issue. Brightwell products sells a powdered kalk bag...

License to Drive vs. Right to Travel

I don't think that I trust your interpretation of the law if you don't understand the difference between write and right.

    Trump tax plan

And they will get it too. A friend of mine was telling me that the US will never end up like Greece because we have a large central bank. Well.... You can not keep printing money to cover expenses. It causes inflation which kills the economy. They will end up taking those 401k's and pensions...

    More Light Questions

A cheap Marineland double bright LED would work fine. I believe your tank is 6 foot long, so two 3ft ones or a four foot and a two foot would work fine.

    Marine tidal pool project

If you go with a scrubber, you wouldn't have a need for a skimmer. If you do a decent water change with that volume of water every month, you wouldn't need one either. Just depends on what your looking for. You'll have to decide if a skimmer is worth the benefit or if a water change would be...

    Marine tidal pool project

Design and layout pictures or diagrams? Tidal pools are typically shallow,... I've seen modified plastic or fiberglass ponds from large hardware stores used as such. I've also seen heavy duty plastic kiddie pools. I have also seen wooden and epoxied tidal pools and cement pools. I guess it...

    Back to basics- 29g adventure

I threw my back out on Friday. I've been laying down with a heating pad for the last three days. I had to call in to work today. I've been taking pain killers, but they have not helped much. I feel more confident in kalk+2 for dosing than a two part. Mainly because its what I have the most...

    Back to basics- 29g adventure

I do monthly ten gallon water changes and use kalk. I'm sure you might could do weekly but might still have to supplement.

    Back to basics- 29g adventure

I had a two little fishies kalkwasser reactor on my old 75g and it performed perfectly. If you are going to do it, I suggest getting one of those. It does come with a pretty good check valve that prevents the backflow that Bang is talking about. It doesn't prevent it all, but it does a good job...

Smaller place, bigger tank...My 200DD build

Ah, so you like that RO unit stuff, eh? I'm happy that you are finally on a road to happiness with this tank.. I hate to hear that you might be planning on moving next August.... that just sucks. I never enjoyed moving, but I am finally in a pretty permanent location, and I have really enjoyed...

    Trump tax plan

Carly was the CEO of Hewlett-packard for a while,... She is obviously not incompetent, but from looking at the history of the company and their finances under her, she doesn't necessarily shine. I personally like Huckabee, but we will see how it goes.

    Last nights' Presidential Debates

It was interesting too that he might consider running on an independent ticket rather than Republican. I think that would make him even more appealing to some people.

    Last nights' Presidential Debates

I thought it was funny that Donald Trump called Megyn Kelly a bimbo on his twitter after the debates. He was really sticking it to the moderators.
