    The way back machine

Back in my day we had aquariums soldered together with lead seams with granite rock bottoms. Tube heaters didn't exist, so we lit a candle underneath the tank to help heat the water. Water movement was done with convection heat and a wooden spoon. Just kidding, that wasn't me. No, we used...

License to Drive vs. Right to Travel

Technically, you could let your license expire and not renew or re-sign the document, which gives you back your right to freely travel.

License to Drive vs. Right to Travel

Did you know that a license is not required to be able to drive on public roadways to do private business or personal travel? It's the Right to Travel, and was ruled upon many times by the Supreme Court. The only time you are required to have a license is when you are a commercial driver on the...

Hijack my thread anytime man. I don't mind at all. Your right too, I had to deal with a lot of issues with my water quality before making progress.

And by "the one" I mean the dual TDS meter. Unless the cost of shipping prohibits it, of course.

There are also different varients of chloramine, Pegasus. Monochloramine, do chloramine, trichloramine, and others. Depending on what type of chemical they are using is how many catalytic carbon block filters are needed. I'd get refillable cartridges anyway and buy some high capacity carbon...

    Back to basics- 29g adventure

Have you checked your local tap water to see what chemicals they use to "make your water safe to drink?" Also, did you get a TDS meter yet to figure out how dirty your tap water is? Those are two answers I really need before I can give you a detailed response on that particular system.

    Chattanooga

Within military installations and bases, I absolutely agree that they ought to, at minimum, be able to conceal carry. However, I don't think even I would feel comfortable seeing members of the military strolling around town with loaded guns. The point is, if military personnel is within the...

I just wanted to take a moment of silence for the service members we lost today, due to domestic terrorism. Now we have all kinds of people coming out of the woodwork wanting to ban guns and create more safe zones and more gun control. I don't understand. It wasn't the guns fault, it was the...

    Iran peace treaty

I'm pretty sure I have an issue with the 24-28 day inspection notice as well. Im not happy about striking a deal with a country that is keeping four Americans hostage either. That just sets the president that the US will bargain with terrorists, just like the Bergdal deal. Did anyone see...

    Deep sand beds

Great responses! Robert, I just wanted to clarify one thing. Nitrogen gas is relatively harmless and unreactive. What many are concerned with is hydrogen sulfide, which is a chemical left over from the breakdown of nitrate. It smells like rotten eggs. I have a deep sandbed in my 29g tank of...

    Confederate flag controversy

Yes, they made an ISIS cake. I don't understand why people get the mindset that they don't like something or are offended by something, they want to ban the thing they take offense to. Why not just avert your eyes or not buy the product?
