    150 Gallon Additional Stocking Questions

Also this is a bare bottom tank so Im not sur if I can keep any gobies. I really like potters leopard wrasses but having the 6 line and no sand would create a problem. Wife wanted a flame angel but it would probably get beat up by the potters even though 300# rockwork.

    Starting a 55 gallon tank

I suggest waiting on your flame angel. My tank has been up and running for about 2-3 months and my flame angel died after 1 week. He died bc my tank wasn't old enough and wasn't producing the algae that he needs for his diet. I offered seaweed salad and he just wasn't interested. My. 02.

...extra detritus and algae from my tank all in one shot. I do plan on getting sand sifters to do this work regularly like sand sifting stars and gobies but currently my hermit crabs, emerald crabs and snails don't do enough of the work for me not to want to touch it every once in a great while...

...xenia. On a brighter note... the other day I caught my diamond goby picking up sand and filling in a hole between two rocks. Perhaps I should get a bunch of diamond gobies to counteract the engineer's destruction! One thing's for sure, I don't have to worry about my sand accumulating nasties....

Actually you're only seeing a third of the tank. It's 6ft. long but I shot close in so you're only seeing a little over 4 feet of it. My filtration isn't all that impressive. A 30 gallon sump with two filter socks filled with 1 chemipure bag each, an eshopps PK-200 skimmer, another large bag of...

need 20 gallon saltwater tank ideas

I agree, but in my case I have other pod hunters aswell. 6line wrasse, sand sifting gobies , etc. I knew a natural pod production wasn't going to be enough. Iam on the edge of this theory tho. Is having other frozen eating draggonets in the same tank, helpful in training new fish? I know it...

Yeah, engineer gobies are really cute... until you put a couple of babies in a 40B with Fiji pink sand... and then they grow up! The sand is completely redecorated every evening when I get home. GRRRR!!! Lol... I don't really mind, but like you said, they tend to much the water up. They've...

...start a bit faster but I am still waiting for the water to spike from the dead shrimp i threw in. I figure in like two weeks I will probably be able to get a fish. Why would you recommend two clowns over the shrimpgoby? Are the gobies just harder or the tank isn't big enough to handle the...

...on one ocellaris clownfish and a small shimp goby and pistol shrimp. I also might add a 10g sump tank down below to give it more water volume I was thinking of using a cpr overflow since i didn't want to drill the tank. As for shrimp gobies i was thinking a randals goby or a yellow watchman

what would be a good firefish tankmate

I've had a pair of firefish gobies in my 125G for a couple of years, and the space they typically inhabit is probably no more than 10 gallons. They're always in the same spot in the center of the tank... unless they happen to chase down a piece of food that drifts out of their neighborhood. I...

what would be a good firefish tankmate

My opinion is that the Firefish is too high energy to do well in a 10 gallon. A couple Neon Gobies and a Clown Goby could work.

    Antenna Goby with a Firefish?

Some gobies dig, some dont. My watchman goby digs like crazy. He's got a rock that he digs out one day then fills the next. Then starts all over again. But then, he's not a shrimp goby.

what would be a good firefish tankmate

For your first saltwater tank, a 10 G is pretty small. Makes keeping the parameters way more important... Maybe others will disagree but I'd go up even to a 20-29 G and make it a little easier on yourself. If you can't, most gobies stay pretty small.

    New fire fish.

Unless you find him as a French fry on your floor. Fire fish gobies get so scared so easily that they have a high probability of committing sushi. Plastic egg crate still has too big of holes to keep them in, but it helps.
