    New Guy, New Tank

Any idea what size tank you are considering? It's difficult to recommend anything without knowing the length of the aquarium. A comment, I'll add more here as I find time to think but for now - out of dozens of people I've seen try to keep a Long-nosed Butterfly I've only witnessed one person...

Need help for Leather - Assorted Varieties

Without species names I'll assume the typical leathers. Medium to intense lighting is fine, moderate to high water flow. Most leathers consume high quantities of Calcium and Carbonate, much more than the stony corals, so you need to keep on top of Alkalinity in particular but also an eye on...

I'm new, tank test level questions

This is fine, I just wanted to explain what happened. A hydrometer measures water density (Specific Gravity, S.G.) not Salinity. To obtain the actual Salinity with a hydrometer you need the water temperature and a Salinity chart. The Salinity of your water didn't change overnight, the S.G...

Mandy - do you dose Iodine (Iodate or Iodide)? Do you know the Iodine level in your salt?

Looks like Caulerpa nummularia to me. I disagree with the ID of Acetabularia sp. because the picture seems to show multiple fronds on each stolon which is a trait of Caulerpa sp.

Restricting the intake can damage the pump. Restricting the output is fine.

    How to lower the Temperature

That's fine but it's the evaporation that removes the energy, not the air temperature. So if the outside air is more humid than the room air then it's not going to work as well even if the air temp is a little lower.
