What can you identify growing on this new rock?

Good is relative. It is telling you you have too much nitrate/phosphate. I don’t mind plants like that in my tank, in small amounts. I do go in and prune it periodically. Way better than hair algae.

    Dogface Puffer tank mate ideas

Snowflakes are very easy eels that are mostly crustacean eaters so they aren’t likely to bother fish.

    Need Some Opinions

If a sump is set up correctly you shouldn’t be able to overflow the tank in a power outage. There needs to be enough empty space in the sump to handle the overflow. The overflow from the tank should not be a siphon but a drilled overflow to prevent overflowing the display if you lose your...

    Is this ich?

It could be or velvet. Either way the fish and all the other fish in the tank, need to be removed from the tank and treated. The tank needs to be kept fishless for 6 weeks for velvet and 10 weeks for ich to allow the parasite to die off before you return any of the fish to the tank.

Morris code maroon Minnesota white male in what offspring should they have

Morris code maroon and Minnesota white, from my research, are different species of clown fish. You will not get any babies and the maroon will probably kill the minn white.

Morris code maroon Minnesota white male in what offspring should they have

There is no way to know. The babies will be the same species as the parents. As for coloration. That depends on the genes they get from their parents. The varieties are just catchy names made up by the breeders. They are all the same kind of fish.

    When to change filter media

I’d rinse any mechanical filtration in the water you take out during water changes every time you do one. Carbon every 3-4 weeks. If you have something intended for bio filtrationlike bio balls or ceramic tubes I’d personally get rid of them otherwise rinse like mechanical filtration. Other...

    Help Needed!

Deep cleaning the system is not a good idea. Especially the sand bed. I do blow the rocks off now and again to prevent build up. I agree HOB is better than canister but in reality you don’t need one. Cleaner packs tend to be a bit excessive especially if you don’t have any fish. May be...

It probably has killed your rock and likely contaminated everything. I’d start by removing everything. Put all your rock in a big container like a brute trash can ( new unused) and fill with tap water. Add a power head to circulate the water around the rocks.and change the all water every...

    Salinity Issues

You don’t want to drop the salinity too fast. If you can I’d drain maybe 20% of the total volume. Over the next week gradually fill it back up with RODI water checking the salinity every day. You will probably need to do this a couple times. When salinity is correct fill it up with salinity...
