    New Mandarin Goby

Unfortunately the fish is probably doomed, if not now in the future from starvation. You didn't do enough research or you'd know that you need a large mature tank for a mandarin. The tank should be up and running a good year before you even try. It should be at least 100 gallons.

Back to the hobby after 10 years!

Absolutely disagree with no water changes, except during the initial period when you are establishing the bacterial colonies. I do ~25% water changes every two weeks. Lighting kind of depends on what you ultimately want. A system you can build on may be best. I personally love Kessils. I...

    bangai babies in my overflow

Adorable. They are probably safest in the overflow. Some may make it to the sump so I'd make sure you don't have any filter socks.

Back to the hobby after 10 years!

I like simple. I have a 3 chamber sump that I built myself with a skimmer, and a bunch of live rock. I'd have a bunch of macro algae in the center chamber but I can't keep it alive. My tank is a reef ready 120 high tank. It already had built in overflows. It was easy to plumb. I don't use...

Back to the hobby after 10 years!

If you can do a 75 you might try a 90, not much more space needed. The RO is great to have. I have mine under the kitchen sink. It provides RO water for drinking and the fridge ice and water. I also have it connected directly to my water change station. It only goes through the DI resin...

Starting a new tank. What do you need to purchase for a 40 gallon saltwater tank. We're is the best place on the Internet to purchase a acrylic tank.

Start with a couple good books THe concientious marine aquarist is a good one. Read them cover to cover then ask your questions. It takes a lot of research and planning to set up a successful saltwater aquarium.

    new to the hobby

I’d agree. It depends much more on the specific needs of the fish. Things like a fire fish at 2” are good in a small tank because they don’t swim around a lot. A flasher wrass which is also in the 2” range would not work because they need swimming space. I wouldn’t even put a clown in a 10...

    Lighting for 15 gallon waterbox

I am a big fan of kessil. The pendants would work well on a small tank.

    Black Hawaiian sand

It can contain iron. This can result in it getting stuck between a magnetic cleaner and scratching the glass

    Emperor Angel white clumps

I’d do some more researchbefore you make that decision. I’ve never had it spread to other fish but it can. I’d make sure you have at least 30 days in QT. Before transferring him.

    New tank help

A 15 gallon isn’t big enough to support a lawnmower blenny. You will be seriously limited in a 15 gallon. To be honest I wouldn’t use natural seawater. It can bring in disease and pests. The salt mixes have higher levels of trace minerals that get depleted in a tank. Live sand from the...
