    I'm an Idiot!!

I was refering to doodles's statement. If you don't find that humorous, I'm sorry for you. But I am playing out in my head the way you misunderstood to whom I was giving props. Now that I see it the way you saw it, it STILL sounds pretty funny. Smarta$$, but funny. Sorry for the misunderstanding.;)

wanna know what helps me every time I get stung? Yep, I pee on the sting. Sick but true. Works the same w/ jellyfish stings too. Works GREAT!! The pain will recede and will not return. I promise! Try it!:D I always end up getting stung by SOMETHING every time I go diving, then again, I'm not...

    Is this true?

I've been told that ANY physical contact w/ a brain will hurt it. I have been VERY careful moving mine around, but I touched the soft tissue by accident while I was moving it. Then it touched a piece of lr. Will it be ok? Is this a myth or not? Thanx!

    What should I expect now?

Ok, I just replaced my crushed coral w/ live sand. I have a 29 setup for over 7 months now. 30 lbs lr, 2 fish, several corals, all the usual. Please tell me what I SHOULD be seeing in the next few days/weeks? 3 days after I put the sand in, I'm noticing some diatom bloom. Is this normal? Please...

    Fire Coral

First- that does NOT look much like fire coral to me. Anybody that has been diving in the keys knows what fir coral looks like. It is rusty/orange color w/ white tips, and yes they hurt like the dickens. Feels more like a jelly fish or man-of-war stings. Or like fire ants. Anywayz, if that is...

    rubbermaid refugium users - ???

Seriously, correct me if I am wrong please, but wouldn't you want to use something w/ sides that reflect light back to the inside of the fuge, like a white tub instead of a dark blue, green, or black one? These dark colors absorb a lot of the available light. This takes light away from the...

What is more crucial right now?

Thomas- Thanx- Yeah, I'm gathering from others too that live (good quality) sand is more important. Also agreed that a dsb is not necessary. A friend who is also a member on this board keeps trying to convince me that I need AT LEAST a 4' sand bed, maybe even deeper. He is now debating w/ the...

What is more crucial right now?

I have a 29 w/ 20 lbs lr and 1 inch cc. I only have 2 small fish and a CBS and crab eating in there right now. I have minimal mechanical filtration. What is more important, trying a DSB or more lr or more filtration? Whatever I do, I wanna do it gradually.

    Have a problem

My experience is that different water reacts differently to light regimens or how long your photoperiod is. There may be more phosphates in your well water than in other peoples' tap water. Try reducing the hours of light a day.

    CBS lost his claws!

He molted last night, and left his claws w/ his exo. This has not happened until now. He can still eat, and I know they will grow back, but what the hell happened? Thanx for any input.

OT- do you own a boat?

JPeavyTX- You are dead on. And I forgot about that when I posted earlier. We waited till the fall to get our's. Yeah, it was used, but for a year, which is NOTHING on a boat- not like a car. Well, as long as you upkeep it properly. We spend a minimum of 2-3 hours cleaning our boat, even if it...

OT- do you own a boat?

We have a 30 ft Whitewater which is the same as a Contender. Both are made for open ocean. Are you looking for a cruising boat, fishing, skiing... And what kind of conditions are you looking at? Salt or fresh, big seas or little lake waves? Searay is an excellent choice. If I am not mistaken...
