A qt is generally just for fish. Its to make sure you dont introduce and disease into your main tank. In the display tank its much harder to treat diaease. A qt just needs a hob filter,heater, few pieces of pvc pipe for hiding

Iam not a sump master by any means, however you can not drill tempered glass. Alot of times the bottom is tempered

Length is generally whats important. Certain fish (tangs) need room to swim, so length is important. A clown could careless, give them a 4ft tank and thats plenty. So lets say you go 6ft long. You can do certain tangs, dwarf angel, clowns,dotty back, cardinals, rabbit fish, blennys...

Bigger is best myself a 7ft 220 lol however we can all dream. Min i would do is 75, 125 is ideal unless u want big fish

That is the issues w eels, escape. You need a completely sealed top. Even then they can get into over flows. The zebra is one I've contemplated myself tho. A have a blonde naso, great fish. Do not add any other naso species tho
