how about zebra hermits?

i've heard that kole tangs do well in 55 gallon tanks with a lot of live rock in them. they are one of the only tangs that do not swim around much and prefer a lot of crevices and hiding places.

i was also thinking either a kole or yellow tang and a hawaiian spotted puffer.

my tank has been up for 4 months and is fully cycled. there is no explanation other than they were in poor health. i even did the drip acclimation method.

puffers usually have a problem with nipping fins, so no, unless it is a puffer that doesn't nip fins, then yes.

its natural for clownfish to do that, mine did that too.

I'm thinking about what fish I should put into my 55 gallon reef aquarium. right now i have about 30 lbs of live rock and im getting 60 lbs of base rock from hawaii anyday now. all i have right now in the tank is one almost dead chromis, some mushrooms and what ever else came on the live rock...

i learned the hard way. bought 3 green chromis, two of them are dead and the last one is looking sickly. they look very healthy in the display tank, but just wait. I'm going swf all the way this time!

I heard on another post that by brushing coraline algae it releases it spores to spread throughout the tank. I'm not an expert, but this sounds like a great idea since coraline algae is good and all. Anyone else heard of this and know if it works?

i'd say try the phosphate pad first, then add the the snails once your tank is back under control.

black and white percs are not the same as occellaris. they are a totally different species. they are a sub species of the true percula. I personally think that the b&w look the coolest, and they come tank bred in some places (like saltwaterfish.com).

How do you like your remora? is it easy to use? does it pick up a lot of waste? I'm asking because I'm investigating upon what type of skimmer to get. By the way, you tank sounds like it has a fine bioload, but I'd suggest getting another chromis (they do better in odd numbers and look cooler...
