if you have the money go for it if not try a 20 or 30 gallon saltwater tank. have you ever heard of a nano cube? they come 12 or 24 gallons and are somewhat reef ready around 250. i think this would be a good place to start.

if he doesnt have a decent income its going to be tough to buy all the equipment if it doesnt come with anything. items for a 150 arnt going to be cheap

if the 150 is already a saltwater tank and hes giving you everything for free id say go for it. if its not saltwater your going to need a skimmer better lights sump ect. this can get expensive for a teen. something to think about

i would say a couple of halides if your going to want clams sps or anemone if not atleast 260 watts of pcs

you can buy 1 already made that comes with a skimmer ect bu they are expensive. if your handy you can make 1 out of id say a 20 or 30 gallon long. you will have to get some plexi glass and make some bafels. you will still have to buy a skimmer, overflow box and return pump

you can get a nice newer 600 for that much

its a smaller tank that goes underneath your tank. you will have to get a overflow box. the water will syphon the the box down to the sump where you will keep your skimmer, heater,pre filter pad and return pump. the pump will then pump the water back to your tank. it keeps all the stuff out of...

are you running a sump if so junk the filter. they are ok but id rather run a sump. r u going to have lr?

so you have to plum your sump to the overflows with either pvc or flex tubing. your skimmer will go in your sump if you have enough room. he return pump goes in the sump also and returns the water to the tank

yes but dont listen to your lfs check this website for your type of fish it will tell you how long. what type of fish do you have? if they are big id use a couple of buckets
