    Powder brown tang help

I don't believe that it is ich, the spots don't get better or worse like the ich cycle. Also I have a hippo tang which is healthy as a horse, and would most certainly contract ich if it was in the system. I'll post a pic tommorow, my lights are off and the fish are all in the rocks.

    yellow tang

yeah I guess I would leave it out too. Hippo's typically like to stretch out and need a minimum of a 6 foot tank for longterm developement

    Aqua C Remora Question

no you didn't do anything wrong, The collection cup can only go down so far before it bottoms out, which would be for producing very wet skimmate. When you lower the black rubber ring and raise the collection cup you get a very dry muddy skimmate. It's up to you how you would like the skimmer...

    wet or dry skim

I empty my skimmate before I go to bed and also when I wake up. The collection cup on my remora pro is full each time with dark tea, so I guess that would be wet.

they are really hit and miss with cleaner shrimp, It really depends on the individual

    yellow tang

I would say go for it, they are different enough in shape so they shouldn't fight. I have a hippo, yellow, and powder brown in my 240 and it still doesn't seem like enough room for them. I had my hippo and yellow together in my 90 gallon with about 100# of live rock and they were fine. Long...

    melting xenia

I've had xenia for about 4 years in my 90 gallon reef. I recently upgraded to a 240 (4 months ago) and my xenia is slowly declining. I had t-5's on my 90 and now I run 4 175 watt halides on my 240. Could this be the problem for the decline? I had about 60 stalks and now I have 12. Could the...

    is something wrong?

be patient and practice good maitenence and reduce feeding. It will take time, hair algae and red slime don't go away overnight

    Large aquarium considerations

use 3/4 inch foam between the tank and stand. It will squish down to nothing and will allow more wiggle room for unlevel surface. I used it on my 240 which is perfectly level.

    is something wrong?

increasing the amount of (cured) liverock will help this problem along with more flow

    is something wrong?

The tank is still pretty new and will go through different algae stages. I had the same problem in my 90 gallon reef. I slowly lowered the temperature to 77 and took out the liverock one at a time and using a flexible scrub brush and a bucket of fresh saltwater I removed all of the hair algae...

    Powder brown tang help

I have had a powder brown for about 4 years without any problems. In fact this is one of the most beautiful speciman I have ever seen. The tang is nearly 8 inches in length and is fat as can be. I feed a variety of foods such as nori, mysis shrimp, emerald entree, formula two, and use garlic...

    Will this be enough flow?

instead of buying koralias I would go with the algae free sure flow kits as well. I have a koralia 4 and it doesn't even compare to the sure flow mod as far as performance. I have a 240 gallon reef tank and I have two maxi jet 1200's with the sure flow kits. I decided to buy one more kit...

    Seaclone Protein Skimmer

I had the seaclone on my 90 gallon tank. When it is dialed in correctly I thought it worked great, until I upgraded to the aqua-c remora pro. I definately recomend this skimmer to anyone who doesn't have a sump. The collection cup on mine has to be emptied in the morning and before I go to...
