Is the Icecap under warrenty still. I only ask because Icecaps have a bad habit of shorting out and blowing fuses after they are broke down and set back after they have been setup for a while.

I have always liked the look of a Coralife 10K bulb and a Coralife Actinic 03. I used the Coralife for a few years and really liked them. The URI's Actinic Whites I think are better for gorwth, but are to pink for my liking.

If it's a glass tank and the Canopy hangs over the tank trim it should barely fit with the endcaps. I had 60 inch VHO bulbs in my Canopy but the tank was 60.5 inches since it was glass.

Here is 2 Oak canopies I have built. The unstained one is 6 ft long and I charge $175.00 stained and sealed. The stained one is 5 ft long and is solid Oak ( NOt Oak Plywood ). I charge $200.00 for it.

VHO's would be great over a 50 Gallon and 4 110 watt bulbs would look great and would not put out near as much heat.

14K bulbs can be pretty blue, so if you plan on running actinics for the dawn dusk affect you may want to go with 10K bulbs and some VHO or PC actinics
