    Oldest living clown?

We have a Gold Stripe Maroon clown that is at least 12 years old. He is one tough fish and has been through more than I care to admit. This includes surviving Hurricane Isabel where the sump was flooded with storm surge water (obviously the pump was not running - so none entered tank), and was...

    What's this????

Thanks ophiura, I happen to have some krill that I bought but the others won't eat it, I'll try it with him. Also have shrimp pellets, but they sink and get eaten before he would ever have a chance to get down there. One more question. Should these be broken up some and/or moistened before...

    What's this????

Thanks for the responses (and praise Beth). I don't specifically feed him, but I did notice that he spent alot of time with 2 "arms" out of the water at the top of the tank before he did this. Should I be feeding him directly or will he get enough from leftovers from when I feed the fish?

    What's this????

Figures, in the few minutes it took to post that, he's gone back to usual. Anyone know what happened. (Was he "relieving himself?")

    What's this????

This chocolate chip has been in my tank for several months and I've never seen him do this! Is this something to worry about? I didn't see the beginning but these two pictures where about 15 minutes apart. All others in the tanks seem to be doing ok.

    Possible TOO BIG UV sterilizer

We have a 125 gallon tank. Trying to provide the best possible environment for our pets. Is it possible to have too big of a UV sterilizer on our tank? I have seen 180g with 18 watt sterilizers, is a 36 watt too big for a 125? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Is my clown dying? Please help ASAP!

Sorry to hear of your loss. I haven't been on the list long, but have been semi-blindly keeping the saltwater tank for almost 10 years now. It sounds as though I've been really lucky, but we've had a maroon clown that has out-survived all other fish through too many bad things to count (or I'd...

    Inflating/Deflating anemone?

Thanks to both for your replies. I've had fish for awhile, but as you well know, they require much less attention to what you give them to survive. Trates - will be doing water changes to lower, I know they are high Specific gravity - went to store today and bought a new gauge. Check out the...

    Inflating/Deflating anemone?

Not sure what kind of lighting LFS has, they are just small tanks so nothing too big or bright. I have a 125 tank with 2 x 96w PC actinic (10 hours) and 2 x 96w PC 10k (4 hours (I've got this cut back to keep red slime algea at bay)). This may not be enough light for him which is why this...

    Inflating/Deflating anemone?

Hello all, New to forum, and new to anemones. Have finally gotten around to getting everything ok (long story) for the maroon clown that has been in the tank for 10+ years to have its own anemone. Went to local LFS and got one. I've had it for a couple of weeks now, and it isn't always doing so...
